I don’t think ‘real feelings’ can be expressed in words. They can only be felt.”

Anonymous asked: NaruSasu is so damn canon it's absurd. Best proof is episode 206: "I'm not going to save Sasuke because you love him, you lying bitch, I'll do it because I LOVE HIM. And no fucks given if you love me or not either."
I thought that it was interesting, that Kishimoto began the manga with Naruto having a crush on Sakura, and then Naruto made ‘the promise of a lifetime,’ to her to bring Sasuke back…Only for him to dismiss that promise later on and flat out say, "This has nothing to do with my promise to you."
He wasn’t determined to save Sasuke just for Sakura’s sake, he was doing it for his own sake, and for Sasuke’s as well. He wanted to save Sasuke, needed to save him. He was the only person left who hadn’t given up on him (which is why Itachi left Sasuke in Naruto’s hands). He clutched his heart and passed out in the snow at the thought of being unable to save him. He’s never shown that type of heartbreaking emotional response towards anyone else, and it was at a time when he was putting Sasuke before someone he was said to have romantic feelings for. He wouldn’t be satisfied going home with Sakura as she suggested he do when she confessed, because the thing that mattered most to him was saving Sasuke. I wonder if Kishi even realizes how honestly…gay that is, that Naruto has always thought more about Sasuke (both before and after Sasuke’s defection from the Leaf) than he does his own crush on a girl. That is very telling, that Naruto chooses Sasuke over other romantic prospects. Or that Sakura, who is in love with Sasuke, has never had a reaction towards Sasuke as severe as Naruto’s (the clutching his heart, hyperventilating, and crying in the snow thing).
I’m not trying to dismiss Naruto’s feelings for Sakura or Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke here, in fact, I think they can be used as a means to measure Naruto’s feelings for Sasuke. In other words, if Naruto has a crush on Sakura but yet has always focused more on Sasuke, what could be said about his possible underlying feelings for Sasuke? And if Sakura is in love with Sasuke, but yet Naruto is the one who’s had a more severe, heart-wrenching moment of weakness where Sasuke is concerned, what does that say about Naruto’s feelings for him?
I think it says that his feelings go beyond friendship.
"Naruto and Sasuke progress as a pair. So when I write about Naruto, I always have to think about Sasuke." -Masashi Kishimoto
No one affects Naruto the way that Sasuke does. No one is paired with Naruto in Kishimoto’s mind the way that Sasuke is. Even when they’re separated, they’re still together, heart and soul, because their development depends on each other. There can be no Naruto without Sasuke, and vice-versa. That’s love.
